A Midsummer Night's Dream

This has been such a hectic weekend and it's not over yet. Last night we had a wonderful evening in Hyde Park watching the Killers and on Friday night I was at The Hilton on Park Lane at a black tie dinner and awards ceremony with friends and colleagues . It had the theme of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and the ballroom was beautifully decorated with candleabra and white roses. We managed to return home with some of the lovely roses .

Bicycle Basket Bazaar

Had a great time this afternoon hunting for treasures at the monthly Bicycle Basket Bazaar. Debbie and I often have a bike there ourselves to sell our own vintage and handmade goodies. It is well worth a visit with a wonderful array of decorated bicycles selling assorted vintage and handmade goods.  It has a vibrant and friendly atmosphere and there is always something new to see. I bought a lovely altered art picture as a present for someone and found this wonderful vintage Triang pram and carry cot just like one I had when I was a little girl. I also found a lovely old brass desk calendar.

For Debbie

This post is for Deb, one of my best friends and fellow lover of all things vintage. She is on holiday in the US for three weeks and I am already missing her. I think she is in Pensylvania right now and will be trawling flea markets and auctions as I speak.
The pictures are of some of the cards she has made for me recently. She is a very creative lady who does lovely altered art some of which she sells on her etsy shop, 'Vintage Wants Not Needs'. Anyway I am sure she is having a wonderful time and will be back before I know it.

First ever posting

At last, here is my first ever posting. I am still trying to work out how to customise my blog, technology never was my strong point.
The weekend was lovely, Sunday morning was spent wandering around the local car boot sale hunting out vintage treasures. It was a little dissapointing but I still came away with a small haul. It was lovely sitting on the grass having coffee and cake in the sunshine inspecting my finds before heading for home.

The garden is looking lovely with the lavenders coming out and some of my favourite David Austin roses in full bloom. I always pick some for the house, they are always so much better when they have come from your own garden.
